Relation changes
Track the background chain work of every change of the IB structure: attached and removed clients, deleted users and sign-ups, with their status, progress and who started them
When a client is attached to an IB, a relation is removed, a user is deleted or a client signs up with a referral link, the IB structure changes at once, but the chains that link every client to the IBs above them are rebuilt in the background. For a large structure this can take from a few seconds to several minutes, and the partner's reports and IB Room follow once it finishes.
On this page, you can see every such change with the state of its background work and who started it.
Relation change list
The list shows the newest changes first and provides the following information:
Created
The date and time when the change was made. Click it to open the details of the change.
Type
The kind of change. Possible values:
- Client attached — a client was attached to an IB, in the Back Office (Add client), through the API or by a new IB record that copied the IB of its client record.
- Relation removed — a client or sub-IB was removed from an IB.
- User removed — an IB or client record was deleted, together with all of its relations.
- Signup — a client signed up with a partner's referral link.
Subject
The client or sub-IB whose place in the structure changed.
Parent IB
The IB the subject was attached to or removed from.
Status
The state of the background work. Possible values:
- Pending — waiting in the chain rebuild queue.
- Processing — the chains are being rebuilt.
- Completed — all chains are up to date.
- Failed — at least one relation could not be processed. The details page shows which one and why.
Progress
The number of processed relations out of the total, for example 6 / 7. Removing a user processes every relation of that user.
Initiated by
Who started the change:
- Admin — a Back Office user, with their email.
- Client — a B2Core client, with their email.
- API App — an app from Introducing brokers > Preferences > Apps, with its name.
- System — work that nobody started directly.
Duration
The time the background work took, or has taken so far.
Use the filters above the list to narrow it down by the creation date range, type (select one or more types; no selection shows every type), subject or parent IB email, status, or the initiator's email or app name. The list refreshes as soon as a filter changes.
Change details
The details page shows the subject, the parent IB, who initiated the change and when it was created, started and finished. It refreshes automatically every 5 seconds until the change is completed or failed.
- While the change is Pending, the page shows how many jobs are ahead of it in the chain rebuild queue and which job is running now. A large reassignment runs in the same queue, so relation changes may wait for it to finish.
- While the change is Processing, the page shows how many relations have been processed.
- If the change Failed, the page shows the error and a Retry button. For details, refer to Retry a failed change.
The Relations table lists every relation the change touched. Besides the relation you changed, it can contain:
- Rebuild rows for the IB records of the client's profile: when a client with its own IB records is attached to an IB, those of its IB records that have no IB yet are attached to the same IB.
- Prune rows for the relations removed together with the one you removed: when a client is removed from an IB, the IB records of the same client under that IB are removed too.
Retry a failed change
Most failures are temporary: the system retries the background work automatically, and a change is marked Failed only after a series of failed attempts. To recover it, click Retry on the details page of the change and confirm. If the retry fails too, contact the B2BROKER support team and provide the link to the details page.
Until a failed change is processed, the chains of the affected clients stay out of date: a client that was attached brings the IB no rewards, and an IB that a client was removed from keeps receiving rewards for that client. A client whose attachment failed does not appear under the IB in Program > Clients until the retry completes.
The details page keeps every failed attempt: when it failed and with which error, and when it was retried and by whom.
